Styling a Bar Cart: Summer Edition

Bar carts add fun to any space, especially when you decorate them! This bar cart styling reminds me of all things summer, and I am not ready to let these summer vibes go, just yet! It reminds me of 5 o’clock cocktails on the patio with neighbors, late nights spent chatting over a drink with a game of cards, sipping a glass of wine with the windows open, and trying out new cocktail recipes for a fun Saturday night! Now, not everything has to revolve around cocktails, but you get the point!

My first advice is to shop the clearance/ sale sections in stores! I found most of these items you see on the bar cart in the clearance section at World Market, Target, and Homegoods. I found this little tropical plate in the kitchen clearance at World Market. Right now, it serves as a plant saucers and adds color to the cart. Later, it may serve as an actual plate for something else.

The blue patterned bowl that currently holds the lemons and limes was also a random clearance find at World Market.

I found this blue decorative hexagon tray at Homegoods and was instantly drawn to it! I love the bold, fresh pop of color that it adds to my bar cart. It’s prefect for summer!

I added Sunflowers to a gold case for some extra vibrant color. I love how it adds height, dimension and color to the bar cart.

Keeping it classy and more subdued, I went with a black rectangular tray to display our liquor stock (or lack there of :)). This tray was also in the clearance section at World Market.

The one item I did splurge on was this set of four drinking glasses that came with their own caddy. I paid full price for this set. It was worth it to me because I loved that the glasses came with a caddy to hold them in. These were from World Market.

The martini glasses and stir/mixing accessories are from Amazon. The black and gold trinkets are random finds from Homegoods over the years.

My bart cart is from West Elm. I bought it a few years ago before my husband and I had kids. I loved the color of the wood and the gold contrast on the rails. This was a splurge at the time. During our first born’s crawling stage, the bar cart was moved to the basement. We brought it back to life at least for a little while, until our second baby starts becoming mobile!

One of my favorite parts about this look is the pop of color displayed throughout. It’s the perfect blend of summer and I will hold onto it as long as I can before the cool air comes through!
